NTSE 2021-22 - NTSE registration forms 2021-22 will be released by the State level exam conducting authorities in online and offline mode. It is expected that the NTSE 2021 application form will be released in October/November 2021 by the respective states. The last date to fill the NTSE 2021 registration form will vary accordingly.

NTSE Exam 2022 Exam Pattern
Every year, the NTSE Exam is conducted in two different stages namely, Stage 1 and Stage 2.
- Stage 1:
- A state and UT level examination.
- Conducted by the authorities of various states and union territories.
- Paper 1 tests the Mental Ability of the students while Paper 2 tests the Scholastic Ability of the candidates.
- 1 mark will be assigned for every correct answer. There is no negative marking for the incorrect answer.
- The total no. of questions asked in the exam is 200 (Paper 1 – 100 questions, Paper 2- 100 questions).
- The total marks for the stage 1 exam are 200 marks (Paper 1 – 100 marks, Paper 2- 100 marks).
- Stage 2:
- A National-Level examination.
- Conducted by NCERT.
- It is an offline test.
- The exam consists of two different papers namely Paper 1 and Paper 2.
- Paper 1 tests the Mental Ability of the students while Paper 2 tests the Scholastic Ability of the candidates.
- 1 mark will be assigned for every correct answer. There is no negative marking for the incorrect answer.
- The total no. of questions asked in the exam is 200 (Paper 1 – 100 questions, Paper 2- 100 questions).

NTSE Exam 2022 Application Process
The application form for NTSE can be filled in both the modes i.e. in online and offline modes. For the different states, the offline application form will be distributed separately by the states. Here we have given some general guidelines regarding the form filling process which are as discussed below.
- If the candidates are downloading the form itself but while taking print out only use legal 8.5” * 14” size paper.
- Only the application form which is available online or offline by State/ UT liaison officer is only applicable for the Stage 1 exam.
- While filling the Application Form of NTSE, candidates have to leave the 4-digit center code blank, because it has to be filled by the liaison officer or concerned district officer or center superintendent.
How to fill NTSE Form?
The form filling process for Indian students is different for Indian students than the Indian students studying abroad. Here is the detailed process is provided below.
Indian Students
- Indian students must have to download the application form which is available on the official website of NCERT.
- After filling in all the details, the candidates must get the form signed by the principal of his/ her school.
- Lastly, the application form will be submitted to the State Liaison Officer before the last date of submission of the application form.

Indian Students Studying Abroad
- Those Indian students who are studying Abroad can apply directly for Stage 2 of the NTSE exam.
- The application form for stage two will have to be downloaded from the website.
- After filling the application form, the duly filled in application form must be sent to the following address with a photocopy of the mark sheet of the previous exam:

NTSE Exam 2022 Eligibility
The eligibility criteria are different for the different stages as prescribed by the NCERT.
- Candidates should be an Indian citizen.
- The candidates must have to appear in class X from a recognized private or government school/ Board in India.
- Unemployed candidates whose age is below 18 years, and studying in class 10 from open or distance learning then those candidates are also eligible to apply for the NTSE exam.
- The candidates will able to apply for the second stage if they meet the sectional cut-off in stage 1 as well as the overall cut-off.
- The Indian students who are studying in abroad, and want to apply for NTSE 2022, should send the attested copy of the class IX mark sheet to the head of the Educational Survey Division, NCERT by 31st December 2022.
